The 2nd TV Festival of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Contries - Official Launch of China-Turkey Cooperation on the Large-Scale International Co-Production Documentary "Wheat:The Seed of Civilization"

The 2nd TV Festival of Shanghai Cooperation Organization Contries, jointly organized by the National Radio and Television Administration, the People's Government of Shaanxi Province, and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and hosted by the Shaanxi Provincial Radio and Television Administration and Shaanxi Radio, Film, and Television Media Group (Station), was successfully held in Xi'an from July 15 to 17, 2025. Under the theme "Converging Civilizations, Creating Audiovisuals, Sharing the Future," the festival featured an opening ceremony, bilateral and multilateral meetings, and three parallel thematic exchange activities: "Audiovisual Industry Exchange and Cooperation," "Integrated Dissemination of Audiovisual Content," and "Audiovisual Content Trading Market."

During the "Integrated Dissemination of Audiovisual Content" parallel thematic event of this television festival, the global premiere of the large-scale documentary "Wheat: The Seed of Civilization," the first systematic documentary to tell the story of wheat and humanity, officially reached a cooperation intention with Turkish Company-Blue Media.Mr. Li Degang, the chief director of the documentary and CCTV director, delivered a speech titled "Interpreting the Global Story of Wheat from Multiple National Perspectives and Tracing the Genetic Roots of Human Civilization Over Tens of Thousands of Years." He shared with representatives from various countries the motivations behind telling the story of wheat and the making of this documentary, which embodies the perspectives and wisdom of multiple nations.
